From March to June, Shenzhen rainstorms constantly, the sunshine hours hit the lowest during the same period in history. So this year is the year of great cold and dampness, and the dampness is really heavy. Coupled with the drinking of coffee and eating cold drinks, Pozi should often feel physically tired and lack of energy, right?
From the perspective of health care, in addition to eating more ginger in summer, but also to take advantage of the morning sun to sunbathe more on the back, to get rid of dampness and dissipate cold. So I used to get up early and went to Tonglang Mountain in the early morning.
The Country Trail is about 5 kilometers one way, circling uphill for 1 hour and 40 minutes to the top with stunning views of Shenzhen Bay and Hong Kong. The trail descends the same way, encountering wild rhesus monkeys and running away, returning to the foot of the hill in just 1 hour and 10 minutes. A round trip of 10 kilometers and 3 hours is just the right amount of exercise.
Especially the subway is just a short walk away, the road is good and the scenery is beautiful, no wonder there are so many morning walkers in the morning. I envy those who live in Tanglang for having such a close and comfortable hiking route in a bustling residential area!
01 On the Countryside Trail
Tonglang Mountain, Tonglang Mountain Country Park and Tonglang Mountain Country Trail actually all refer to the same place. It is located in the Nanshan District, 432 meters above sea level, is one of the ten peaks in Shenzhen, climbing to the top can receive an electronic certificate. I would like to ask everyone, you have climbed a few of them?
There are two routes up the mountain
(i) Walking the "hiking ladder": very steep and tiring, dirt road is very wild, but it takes a short time, about 1 hour.
(ii) Take the "mountain highway": small gradient, good condition of the concrete road, easy to walk, but time-consuming, about 2 hours each way (the way I chose to do it).
There are two routes down the mountain
(i) Returning the way I came (the way I chose)
(b) From the Extreme Eyes Pavilion at the summit of Tonglang Hill, traversing to the graffiti wall of Mui Lam Reservoir via the Tea Heung Trail, the journey is about 13-14 kilometers or so, with lots of steps and difficult paths, it takes at least 4 hours, so please take the time to walk according to your own strength (in the direction of the purple line on the map below)
02 About transportation
Take MTR line 7, go to "Taoyuan Village Station" exit D, then follow the map below, it will take about 5-7 minutes to get to "Longzhumen". Tanglang Mountain is open all day long without reservation, just take mosquito repellent and food with you.
03 About the landscape
Entering the Dragonball Gate, the hike begins!
This entrance also features an electronic punch card point, where you can receive a number book with a chip, and then compete with the city's people to see how fast you are and where you rank.
The mornings were cool and the sun wasn't at a blistering level, and there were a lot of people working out!
There are several restrooms/resting booths/self-service vending machines along the way, which is very convenient. Don't worry about getting lost either, just follow this disk road all the way uphill.
The view from the mid-levels
One of the reasons this country trail is pleasant and easy: 90% of the trail is shaded by trees, and only the first 200 meters of the finish are blisteringly sunny. You can hike, you can run, but you can't ride.
Heard the passerby ladies chatting, said every week to walk Tonglangshan, happy oh!
About 1 kilometer near the end of the trail (Hundred-foot Staircase, Jokumeikaku) is a wild monkey infested area where several biting incidents have been reported this year. Staff will be stationed here, reminding passers-by not to hold food and drinks or actively feed them.
Did you all see the wild monkeys in the trees?
Near the end, it was sunny but beautiful.
From the Hundred-Foot Staircase, it's the top of the mountain, "Jomei Pavilion"! It's the last climb. Hang in there!
The view from the top platform: Shenzhen Bay, the sea and Hong Kong across the river in front, Xili Lake and Balcony Hill in the back.
After getting my "mountaineering certificate" at the Gomoku Pavilion, I chose to go back the way I came, and it was much easier to go down than to go up.
But this time I encountered wild monkeys, it is much more fierce. There was a passerby with food in his hand, and the monkeys came down from the tree and chased after him, and ran towards me, scaring me so much that I screamed. ...... Don't tease the monkeys, they are wild and hard to tame, they are very dangerous, especially parents with children should pay attention.
Back at the Dragonball Gate again, with my hiking track attached!
If you start hiking in the morning, after 3-4 hours, we recommend you to take a taxi to the nearby "ChaoYue Beef Hot Pot (Xili LongJing Branch)" for lunch.
I often go to Chaoshan to eat and drink, the standard of beef hot pot in this restaurant will not be much inferior to the local Chaoshan, per capita 100 yuan, and cost-effective. The downside is that you have to be quick, otherwise the three-flower toes and five-flower toes may be sold out by 12 noon.
