Last week I stumbled across a reminder about health, "Getting eight hours of sleep and going for a walk can help more than any health professional."
Since starting the weekly apprenticeship, it's been obvious that my energy, stamina, focus and perception, have all improved. Being able to disconnect from the overload of information and short videos, put down my phone, and develop a good life-changing habit has made the whole person happy.
For this week's hike, I was invited with a friend to the most classic Meilin Greenway in the backyard of Futian CBD. The 8.3 kilometers from Futian to Nanshan took 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Entrance and exit, both with subway, are super convenient. The stone pavement along the way is flat and easy to navigate, and the lush greenery and birdsong make it very friendly even for novice walkers. It's also a beautiful greenway that I'm sure to return to every year, and it's well worth the effort, with a detailed guide to follow right away!
01 About the entrance
Usually I start at Nanshan and end at Futian. This time, I decided to do it the other way around, starting from Lower Meilin and ending at Changlingpi. Just like the running route, sometimes a change of time or a change of direction will bring a completely different surprise to the scenery that you are used to!
Get out from Exit D of the Lower Meilin MTR Station and walk to the Meilin Reservoir, which is similar to the entrance of the "Five Parks Connection", except that the fork in the third picture is different, and you have to go in the direction of the "Graffiti Wall of the Meilin Greenway".
02 About the landscape
It's been hot and nice lately, and the climb up to the Merlin Reservoir dam was like anime-like clouds and scenery.
The hike officially begins from the security booth at the end of the dam! A small incline upwards and it becomes flat as you turn onto the gravel road.
A lot of people will bring their bikes, and frankly the gravel roads stumble and fall, so they shouldn't be comfortable to ride!
Walking three to five hundred meters, there are a number of observation platforms, from which you can see Meilin Reservoir and Futian CBD in the distance, the scenery is very beautiful!
This platform has a different view.
It is such a gravel road the whole way, with no forks in the road, so feel free to move forward. More than half of the journey is shaded, quiet and beautiful. The little ones are careful not to break their feet when taking pictures!
After walking for about an hour, you will reach the intersection of Futian and Nanshan Greenway, and there are restrooms nearby. Just remember to keep going in the direction of "Cheung Ling Pei"!
The South Mountain section of the greenway, which is almost entirely downhill, is even more pleasant to walk on when combined with cloudy days with showers and cool breezes.
You can also look out over the highway next to the traffic.

There is a rest platform in front featuring a second restroom on the greenway and the railroad is nearby.
When you get here, you're not far from the terminal!
The high rise is the exit.
Overall, the Meilin Greenway is very mature, gentle and well-traveled. It's also safe and convenient because it's in the center of the city, so it's perfect for both companions and solo travelers. Bring water and sunscreen, and let's go easily! Attached is my exercise track.

Nearby is the subway line 5 "Changlingpi" station, you can follow the direction of the map below.
Summer is hot and a bit stuffy. If you want to go outdoor hiking, it is truly recommended to get up early, or start in the evening (chasing the sunset and sunset is also very beautiful), always remember to avoid the daytime sun exposure phase Oh, it is best to bring anti-mosquito water!
