Tonglang Hill has recently opened a fun handmade trail, directly accessible by the MTR, which is moderately difficult and suitable for people in the urban area to get close to nature after a busy and tiring day. It is the “Green Pine Trail”!
The name comes from the fact that there are many ponytail pines growing here. The name comes from the fact that there are many ponytail pines growing in this area. With the resonance of “green pine” and “relaxation”, we hope that people in Shenzhen who are physically and mentally tense can relax on this trail and enjoy a leisurely time.
The trail is 3.7 kilometers one way and is basically a dirt road, stone step road and cement road, primitive and natural. During the hike, you will encounter a lot of harmonic stalks of plant science, provoking children and adults alike to be very happy.
About the entrance
Take subway line 7 to Shamyun subway station exit B. Walk 300 meters straight ahead and you will see the “Green Pine Trail” sign.
This is where it all begins!
About the Greenway
Segment 1: Entrance - Middle point “Yicui Pavilion”.
(Time consumed: 50 minutes)
A handmade trail created by trees, winding up the trail
Various installations that kids will love
There are also flora and fauna rhymes that will make you smile!
Lemon eucalyptus, horsetail pine, and poplar trees are also available
If you are tired, you can choose to return the same way when you reach the Tui Cui Pavilion (the center point), after all, this is the most interesting part of the trail.
Section 2: Yicui Pavilion - Plum Language Pavilion
(Time consumed: 1 hour)
The first half is a dirt road and the second half is steps.
The guide sign at the fork! On the right, we climbed up to the top of the mountain to the “Plum Language Pavilion”, and in front of us, we went down from the “Plum Language Pavilion” to the Shamyun Gate entrance/exit.
The endless steps are very steep!
The Plum Language Pavilion at the top of the mountain.
The nearby viewing platform is a must (there are restrooms), overlooking the Shenzhen Bay Park and the beach. Unfortunately, it was cloudy when I was there, and visibility was poor, but it was great with the wind blowing.
About the descent
You can go back to Yicui Pavilion - Sham Yun MRT Station the same way at the fork. Or you can do the same as me and walk to the “Sham Yun Gate Entrance and Exit” (far away from the subway/bus station, only suitable for taxi).
It's basically a stone path, quite a nice walk
Watch out for dogs when you reach the village at the foot of the mountain.
This is part of the Tonglang Mountain Country Park and is very beautiful.
Just follow the direction of the arrow and keep going down the hill

About the advice
Although it is only 4.6 kilometers up and down the mountain, the climb up is about 400 meters, and it usually takes 2 hours to reach the end of the mountain, “Plum Language Pavilion”, and a round trip will take 4 hours, so we don't recommend trying it for children who are too young!
If you want to go, please wear proper shoes and bring enough water and food. Don't be silly like me, think it's so short, take advantage of the cool cloudy day, take a small mineral water and rush over, the result is thirsty and tired.
After all, it is a countryside trail, ants and mosquitoes are quite a lot, remember to bring anti-mosquito water. In addition, if you choose a good weather with blue sky and white clouds, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the viewing platform, which is very worthwhile!
