This is Longtan Village, also known as Longtanli, an ancient village located in Xiling Township, Pingnan County, Ningde City, Fujian Province, about fifty kilometers away from Pingnan County.
The village is surrounded by mountains on all sides, with a small stream running through the village. The ancient buildings are staggered along both sides of the stream, with rammed earth and yellow mud walls, solid wooden structures, black and gray tiles, and old wooden doors, which have been battered by the wind and rain, leaving mottled traces.
Ancient trees in the sky, the sunlight flickers, cutting out the boundaries of light and darkness, moss grows unchecked in the dark, and the villagers' days open up in the light. This ancient village hidden deep in the mountains has preserved the form of a primitive village, a firework world that comes out of a poem or a painting, very quiet and peaceful, known as the Fujian version of “going to a windy place”.
