This is a stone fortress located in the valley of “Yunhe Terraces” scenic area in Lishui, Zhejiang Province, which is also known as Silver Valley because it was once rich in silver mines. Walled village was built in the Ming Dynasty Jingtai three years ago, more than 800 years of history.
This fortress was built by the miners who mined in the Ming Dynasty because of the silver mine. The architectural style is unique, and it still preserves the primitive and simple style of the ancient dwellings. Using stone as the main material, it has preserved numerous ancient buildings such as stone walls, stone roads, stone steps and stone bridges.
This place is located in Yunhe County's highest peak of the White Crane Peak of the northeastern foothills, the altitude is relatively high, perennial clouds, most of the time the temperature is lower than the mountain about seven degrees Celsius, it is very ideal summer resort, known as the “clouds above the stone cottage”.
There are still villagers living in the cottage, they make fires for cooking, and in the evening a wisp of smoke comes out from the chimneys on the roofs of the houses, and the whole stone cottage is full of the smoky atmosphere of small bridges and flowing rivers and homes.
On rainy days, under the steam of rain and mist, the stone village of Kengen is a perfect blend of natural scenery and humanistic landscape, just like a fairyland, also poetry and painting.
