This is Taoyuan Village, an ancient village located in Shanli Town, Qimen County, Huangshan City, Anhui Province. The village is hidden in the valley between two mountains, with water ports and river ports, good fields and hills, all in one place, with excellent feng shui. After thousands of years of accumulation, it has formed the pattern of a typical Huizhou village, which is still well-preserved and original despite the vicissitudes.
There are more than 50 existing monuments in the village, and the “Nine Ancestral Shrines in One Village” is rare in the country, enjoying the reputation of “Ancient Ancestral Shrines in Huizhou”. The Kuixing Pavilion and the ancient corridor bridge at the entrance of the village, under the cover of green trees and mountains, look very simple and verdant and mysterious. Rarely, there is also a section of ancient road in the village for hiking.
Walking into Taoyuan Village, the simple and ancient buildings and the long stone road exude a strong historical flavor. There are ginkgo trees that are more than 360 years old and sapium trees beside the streams, forming a beautiful picture. Surrounded by green hills and fresh air, the village is a place to savor Keemun red tea and enjoy the ancient architecture and beautiful scenery. There is no hustle and bustle of the city here, only peaceful countryside scenery and simple folk customs. The villagers live a poetic life like a paradise in the world, “picking chrysanthemums under the east hedge, leisurely seeing the south mountain”.
