This is Jitou Village, an ancient village located in Tangkou Town, Pingnan County, Ningde City, Fujian Province. The village was founded in the Tang Dynasty, more than 1,000 years ago, and has a deep cultural heritage, making it the leader of the “Four Great Book Towns” since the county was founded in the Qing Dynasty. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, there were more than 200 people who were successful in the imperial examinations, and many plaques of “Literary Leaders” can still be seen in the village today. The village used to be very splendid, but unfortunately, it has been reduced to a state of poverty, and most of the people who remain are old people and children.
The mottled rammed earth and yellow walls show the traces of age, and under the sunlight, they look even more ancient and heavy. A small stream passes through the village, with small bridges and flowing rivers, and behind the houses there are fragrant fruits and vegetables, and in the alleys you can still smell the smell of burning firewood. In the stream, there are schools of big and fat koi fish, amazingly, they seem to follow us from the beginning of the village to the end of the village.
