Microwave Hill Park | Shenzhen giant cold park, only 1% of the people have been (with tips)

2024-10-27Monica at Shenzhen Microwave Hill Park

This treasure is 📍Microwave Hill Park. It was named after the first commercial microwave transmission tower for external communications in China, which was located here in 1979. At the foot of the hill is Time Square, where a huge banner reading “Time is money, efficiency is life” stands, reminding people of the enthusiasm of the early days of reform and opening up.

🌳 Park area is not large, stroll around less than half an hour, zui height of 43 meters above sea level, five or six minutes to climb to the top, along the way planted with acacia trees, with stone steps, a quiet environment. At the top of the hill is the China Merchants History Museum (new museum), you can see the development process over the past 150 years, the viewing platform overlooking the Shekou area 🌊.

🌳See here:

❶ The original site of the microwave station built in 1981. The first and second floors of the museum are laid out with the restoration of the microwave station as the core, and indoors is the exhibition hall of China Merchants' history.

❷ Teardrop-shaped spiral staircase. The teardrop-shaped floor plan, circular patio, concise aggregate concrete wall, the higher you go, the brighter it gets, and the sense of extension is excellent.

❸ Viewing platform. The third elevated floor of the museum, the viewing platform, overlooks the Shekou Peninsula and Hong Kong (it was not open when I was there), and you can also enjoy the view from the first floor viewing platform and the museum windows).
