Those who want to climb the mountain to see the sea but don't want to be too tired can consider Xiaonan Mountain. Located at the south end of Nantou Peninsula, the main peak is 287m, the hiking path is about 2.3km long, and the disk path is 2.2km, no matter which way you go, you can climb to the top in about half an hour, it is a walking park for both young and old.
I entered the park from the southeast gate, and the only entrance and exit is the winding road, and there is a fork in the road only halfway. I recommend taking more hiking trails up the mountain to see the historical monuments, ancient wall ruins, Wanli memorial statue, and pick up pretty leaves 🍂; and taking the disk trail down the mountain. (Ps. If you want to see the sunset at the harbor, make sure you come on a clear day, otherwise it will be gray and gloomy.)
🌳Punching point here 📸
☑️ Hilltop Plaza. The viewing pavilion is the best sunset viewing point, so we recommend coming early.
☑️ Chiwan Yandun Ruins. Historically known as the “Gateway to Guangdong and Guangxi”, it was built during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty.
☑️ Historical Monument Square. Located halfway up the mountain, there are viewing pavilions and stone chairs for rest.
☑️ Mountain Highway. Descend along the highway from the summit plaza to see the whole picture of Chiwan.
☑️ Going down the hill towards Chiwan, you can see the Cherry Blossom Train, Bauhinia 🌸, and the delphinium in the Harbor Living Community.
