Yongtai Ancient City is located in the village of Yongtai, Jingtai County, Jingtai County, Baiyin City, Gansu Province, is located in the Shoulu Mountain, Tiger Mountain toward the upper part of the tilted Gobi wilderness, the Temple Beach to the southwestern edge of the Luyang Basin.
Architectural features: the overall shape because it looks like a reclining turtle, also known as Yongtai Turtle City. The whole city plane was oval, the city gate to the south, the inner gate called “Yongtai Gate”, outside the urn city “Yongning Gate”, slightly to the west, shaped like a turtle.
Military significance: Yongtai Ancient City is the most representative and well-preserved Ming Dynasty military castle along the Silk Road, but also an important part of the border defense system of the Great Wall of Ming Dynasty, which can be called the textbook of ancient Chinese military fortresses exemplary work.
Film and television set: Due to its unique architectural form and primitive ecology, Yongtai Ancient City has attracted the attention of many domestic directors, and a number of film and television works, such as “Hot West”, “Sweatblooded BMW”, “Snowflake That Floats”, “Battle of Shamal Town”, “Glorious Days” and so on, have been set up and filmed in the city.
In 2006, Yongtai Ancient City was announced by the State Council as the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
