Henan Pingdingshan Xiangshan Temple Scenic Area, originally belongs to Baofeng County (ancient name of the father city), according to legend, Guanyin Bodhisattva's incarnation after the birth of our native land, is the king of Chu Zhuang's third princess Miaoshan, the beginning of the White Sparrow Temple in Baofeng County, the first monk to practice, become a Taoist temple to Xiangshan Temple, and then go to the South China Sea in the Zhejiang Putuo Mountain, to find the voice of the relief of suffering, universalization of all sentient beings! Therefore, this is the place where Guanyin Bodhisattva testified, the Buddhist community honored as Guanyin Ancestral Court.
Temple in the Cultural Revolution period of serious damage, only survived Guanyin Dashi tower and more than ten ancient monuments, now see the building are later repair. The existing pagoda was built in the Northern Song Dynasty, with 304 statues of Guanyin, the tower is 33 meters high, symbolizing the 33 phases of Guanyin. Outside the pagoda is a Song Dynasty inscription, “Biography of the Bodhisattva of Great Compassion Stele”, written by Cai Jing Shu Dan.
